In your OS it looks very similar like a common Cloud Solution. Only known hosts with the known Key and Hash can access the Sync Data. One big difference is that Resilio by Design is Private. Each of my Devices is a Client and Server in the same way.

So three years ago I got a Deal on the Software "ABBY Fine Reader 14" this Software is great for mixed Language OCR, Tables, collumns and all weird Formatings. The Canon Software could do a "simple OCR" but this is really bad, specially if you have mixed language documents. For my Scanner I use a Canon TR8500 since years, a consumer multifunction Printer / Scanner. Years ago I changed my home “document storage” to Digital only - every letter / bill / notice is filled into the tray "to be scanned" and asap scanned and OCR to PDF. Some may go a step further and use some kind of Encryption, but this is often not very end user friendly. We recommend to restart Sync if you want to apply changes in the IgnoreList immediately.If it comes to Syncing folders to several devices many of us go the “lazy way” using google drive, dropbox, onedrive whatever to sync your local Documents.
Sync re-reads IgnoreList every time it is changed or (if system notifications are not coming for some reason) every folder_rescan_interval. It means that if you create or edit your IgnoreList file after the directory was added to Sync, the folder structure will always be fully synced, however, actual files / folders added to the ignore list will not be passed to other peers. Timings and delays Once Sync has scanned and indexed the directory tree of a sync folder, all the structural info is going to be stored in its database and always passed to other peers (until you disconnect the sync folder). It will not work with files that have already been synced. Note: the IgnoreList is applied to the folder where it is contained and its subfolders.

So please do not forget to use “/“ for Mac and unix-based OSes, while for Windows OSes use “\”.
